The MSS can replicate data from any central database server running Oracle Server, Oracle Lite, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Sybase SQL Anywhere Server, IBM DB2 Server, SQLite and Sun MySQL, over any wireless network, to any mobile device running a MobiForms client. Where remote database access is required MobiForms has been certified to run with Oracle Lite, Personal Oracle, Oracle Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Sybase SQL Anywhere, IBM DB2 Server, SQLite (Windows Edition), Sun MySQL and HSQLDB. HSQLDB can be directly replaced with the HXSQL database.

Oracle, Sybase and HSQLDB server certification enables a working server based solution to be achieved first before moving to an equivalent mobile database on a wireless device. Other server and mobile databases will be certified soon.

Alternatively, Mobiforms can read and write to any ASCII file which means you do not need to have a local database installed.
